This is a unique collection of 90 hanks.  Type 1 base. 

When dyeing with woad (indigo) you can get two types of outcomes and you can choose what to preorder
Tonal Solid Shades
Variegated Shades

Tonal Solids
These are very much a solid colour of blue - there may be a few tonal shifts but the indigo is covering all the natural white. In places you may get the odd tonal shift in the blues, but pretty much its a solid one colour blue.

The shades of woad blue are always consistent and I would say there are 2 common shades I get on a dyeing day.
Woad 1. Denim
Woad 2. Sky

And then either side of Denim and Sky I can get a darker denim or an Aqua Blue.  Creating a 'fade' set of 4 to 6 hanks therefore is very easy  and fun to do.

Variegated
These are by design or by random! Think of these ones like your 80's tie dye shirts.  I can use resists to protect the white so it doesn't all turn blue. This can be simply by folding it on itself, or using string, ribbon etc to protect the white from the blue.  Or it can simply be by having fun with the amount of TIME spent in the vat.  Some of the yarn can be paler blue by having less time.  Some can simply be accidents.  If I don't 'massage' the yarn in the vat for full coverage, the end result can have 'blobs' of blue or bits of white etc.  

You can leave specific requests in the special box above for whatever you would like for example '3 hanks of Woad 2 Sky' or 'A fade set' or '4 hanks variegated'.

WHEN WILL IT SHIP?
Once the postcards and labels are printed your orders will ship mid August.

What is the 2026 Collection?
It's 100% New Zealand Romney from Shimpling Park Farm in Suffolk, 10 minutes from my shop.
The yarn was spun at The Natural Fibre Company.  It's a 4ply/fingering weight. (Meet the farm and the sheep of the Lavenham Blue 2026 Collection
