3D landscapes Free Motion Embroidery Workshop

NOTE: This class will run at the scout hut during our community class 'COME BYE & CRAFT' so there is a lovely crafting environment already going on.

A really lovely workshop enabling you to create a collage from decorative rag paper, improve your free machine embroidery and hand embroidery skills and learn a little about landscape composition on the way. All skills will be demonstrated and you will be given lots of encouragement and support.

The papers will have been coloured in advance by Dot. These are used to make a colourful foreground collage. Free machine and hand embroidery are used to depict flowers and foliage. Angelina fibres add a bit of sparkle to the background collage creating a landscape image of hills, lakes, trees and buildings.

The work is mounted in a shadow box frame enabling a 3D image to be obtained. You will work to an 18cm frame. Dot can provide these on the day at a cost of £5. All other materials will be provided.

NOTE: You will need to bring your sewing machine and a free motion embroidery foot. The machine must have a facility whereby the dog teeth can be lowered or covered.

You can bring along a landscape picture to provide inspiration or create from your imagination. Dot will also have a lot of images you can base your landscape design on.
